My style of massage is integrative, pulling from the many modalities that I have learned to help your body heal itself.  My techniques depend upon what your body needs.  I acknowledge what you tell me about your body at the beginning of the session and start from there, but the real information comes from your body.  It is your body that reveals the patterns of movement (or restriction) that can help to identify where the pain is coming from.  And always included is relaxation!

I start each session with checking your alignment with you standing.  This can give me an idea of where we need to focus, based on this and your main concerns.  By getting the body into better alignment, it will be easier to release the muscles that are working more than they need to be.

Each session can be done fully clothed or undressed and draped with sheets.  Whichever way it goes is your choice.  They can both bring about the same results, yet only done in different ways.  Please let me know which way you would feel more comfortable.

If you are wanting to be clothed please wear clothes that your legs can move around in.  My draping style is very modest, only having the area we are working on exposed; even then a lot of the massage is done through the sheet.

My two specialties are deep tissue and cranial sacral therapies, both of which this structural rebalancing is an integral part.

Also included in each session is acutonics,  helping to open up the body energetically to bring about a sense of well being and balance.

Cranial Sacral Therapy works with the nervous system and the cranial bones.  It is  lighter-touch energetic work that touches the deeper core.  It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (aka the relaxation system) to release any unnecessary tension.  I make contacts on the cranial bones to assess if they are moving freely and help to unlock any restricted movement.  By touching the bones, I am also touching the membranes and fluids inside that line the skull and spinal cord and can release any restrictions there as well. The work isn't just done on the head; it is a full body system that shows restrictions in movement.

Deep Tissue Massage targets the muscles that are causing pain and tension in the body, helping to release them through a variety of techniques   Always included with the deeper work is the more lighter, relaxing touch to help the body relax.  Deep tissue is excellent for any chronic pain or general tension held in the body.  Can be full body or focused on one area- you and your body can decide.

*deep tissue is not always deep pressure- it is specific to finding what muscle is causing the pain/tension and releasing it.

Structural Rebalancing works with the bones and the fascia (aka connective tissue throughout the body) to help get things in proper alignment.  Using focused assessment it can give a very gentle yet accurate treatment of posture issues.  It balances each part of your body and how they all work together to create how you feel in your body, helping you to stand with more ease.  By building this body awareness through negotiating your injury history and gravity, you can begin to feel where your best alignment is and catch yourself when it waivers.

Acutonics uses tuning forks that use the vibrations of the planets and the earth and are applied to the same energy pathways as acupuncture.  The forks are used instead of needles; each fork has a different purpose (building, dispersing, enrgizing, etc) and use these to move energy in each point along the meridians.  The theory is based in traditional chinese medicine and the 5 elements.  You have to feel it to really understand what it can do for you.
